Dr. Galerkin’s Treatment Philosophy.

Effective medication management is more than just receiving a prescription.

Medications are an important part of treatment for many mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or ADHD. However, effective medication management takes time. Waiting for a medication to work can be difficult for a patient who needs immediate relief from their symptoms. It is important to choose a board-certified psychiatrist with experience and expertise to give an accurate diagnosis and prescribe the right medication.

Dr. Galerkin’s approach at the first appointment is to take a detailed medical history and gain understanding of how your current life stressors or other medical conditions may affect your response to treatment options. He utilizes the latest psychiatric tools such as screening indexes, genetic testing (when warranted), and labs (when needed). The decision to start or continue psychiatric medications is not one to be taken lightly. Dr. Galerkin’s approach to medication management is designed to acknowledge your individuality and respect the complexity of your situation. After assessing all relevant information, he tailors a treatment plan that gets you the relief you deserve.
